*Ephesians 5:26&27 26...to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to Himself as a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle or any such blemish, but holy and blameless…
4 Takeaways:
1. “KIND OF PEOPLE”
As CHRISTIANS we should all have this in common; LIVING our LIVES in the same manner; in the same way…and that’s living “lives of HOLINESS and GODLINESS”.
As CHRISTIANS we are all to be classified as the “kind of people” who are CONDUCTING OURSELVES IN HOLINESS & GODLINESS.
2. “BE DILIGENT" TO "BE FOUND"
It is our “work or duty” as believers in Christ and His impending return to “be diligent” in the matter of “being FOUND by Him” upon His arrival “without spot or blemish” by living “lives of HOLINESS and GODLINESS”.
We have to be DEDICATED and COMMITTED to this “work” and it is and will be “work” that will require us “BEING DILIGENT” to achieve it.
3. “Be Ready”
When Christ returns he will “present to Himself a church without spot or wrinkle, holy without blemish” according to Ephesians 2:26&27 and the only way that that will happen is by the church ‘being diligent to be found” in that manner; in that way…living “lives of HOLINESS and GODLINESS.
We have to BE DILIGENT in allowing The Word to do what it is purposed to do; “sanctify us and cleanse us" (Eph. 5:26) by allowing the WORD to work in every area of our lives which is reflected in how we CONDUCT ourselves.
The Word of our heavenly Father is the truth and it has the POWER to make us HOLY and GODLY if we are DILIGENT in our acceptance of it as truth.
4. “A CHURCH”
Christ isn’t coming back to "present" a building to Himself but a body; the body of Christ; the church of the living God, so there shouldn’t be a building that is more "glorious" than the body itself and its members individually.
As we wrap up our study on the 3rd of our E'S-OF-EXCELLENCE; EXEMPLIFY let us walk away with this, we are to "be the embodiment of" the church that Christ is Jesus is the head of. We are to "be representative of" the church that He built. This church is a glorious church not because of its beauty but because of its excellence; its holiness and godliness. It is a glorious church because it "personifies" the LORD it serves and "embodies" Christ in the earth every day in this generation. We are that glorious church when we live lives as the church.
